Iskashitaa Refugee Network depends upon donations in order to achieve our mission of creating opportunities to integrate UN refugees into the Southern Arizona community while educating the public and strengthening the local food system, reducing local food waste and increasing food security.

Become a sustaining donor

We ask that sustaining donors have their financial institution issue automated checks to St. Francis/Iskashitaa Refugee Network directly from their bank account, on a desired giving schedule (Example: monthly on the 15th) and request that your bank send the regular checks via mail to Iskashitaa Refugee Network, 1406 E. Grant Rd. Tucson, AZ 86719.

I hope knowing that ~1000-2000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables are going to UN refugee families, local and rural food banks, Casa Maria Soup kitchen every Tuesday, every Tuesday going to the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and every Monday to the Food Not Bombs Food Share program, and ICS (2nd largest Food Bank In So. AZ) every Friday makes you realize how the refugee community is making a difference and that community integration is Iskashitaa's process as well as our goal.

As you know, our work does not end with harvesting, that is just the beginning. We provide job readiness, employment services, case management, immigration legal assistance, ESL training, volunteer mentoring and many other opportunities for refugee families. For a limited number of asylum seekers we provide just about everything since they do not have the right to work for an entire year. Let's hope that 2021 brings hope, safety, and humane treatment to the US refugees/asylum seekers as well as humanitarian relief to the world where it is so sorely needed. Without your support, this would not be possible. Thank you for joining our movement and making a difference on so many levels.

In addition, if you wish to donate a specific item needed by Iskashita, go to “Account & Lists” under your name and click on “AmazonSmile Charity Lists”. Then be sure to click on “See All” for a complete list of items currently needed by Iskashitaa. Once you add an item to your cart, Iskashitaa will show up in your Shipping Addresses and you can select it to have your item shipped directly to us!

Items urgently needed are marked as High Priority, such as:

$40 – Fruit picker or $12 Fruit picker replacement basket

Citrus season dominates fruit picking here in Tucson, and our equipment takes quite a beating over 6 months of constant use.  A new citrus picker will allow us to replace an older picker, which often cannot reach as far, and can damage fruit.

If you want to gift your fruit go to donate your fruit.
